About Andaman & Nicobar Islands

The Andaman and Nicobar Island is one of seven union territory of Republic India, and it is in the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. It is two Islands Andaman Island and Nicobar Island separated by 10-degree channel and the Andaman Sea lies to the east and Bay of Bengal to the west. The capital of Andaman Nicobar Islands is Port Blair.

There are three Districts in Andaman Nicobar Islands that is South Andaman, North and Middle Andaman and The Nicobar. The Headquarter of South Andaman is Port Blair, The Headquarter of North and Middle Andaman is Mayabunder and the Headquarter of Nicobar is Car Nicobar. In this island, there is seven tribes are found, but only one tribe that is Sentinels peoples are till now they didn’t contact with the outer world and they survived in Sentinel Island it is separated from other islands.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands have 572 Islands and of these only 38 Islands are inhabitants. The Andaman groups have 325 Islands and the Nicobar Islands have 247 only. The highest point of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is Saddle Peak which height is 732 meters above from the sea level. The only volcano in India, Barren Island is situated in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It’s the only active volcano in India and erupted in 2017. The Island has tropical climate and varieties of forests like Andaman tropical evergreen forest, Andaman moist deciduous forest, Mangroves forest and etc…. You’ll see also different types of wild animals which are only found in Andaman and Nicobar Island. In Andaman British peoples are ruled, they established a colony at Port Blair in 1858.

They are ruling here so many years and during World War 2 the Island is controlled by Japanese. That time Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was visited in this Island and named this Island is Swaraj Dweep. They will fight and finally get independence. And nowadays Andaman and Nicobar Island is famous for its fast-growing tourism hubs with beautiful beaches and pristine Islands and have a great opportunity for water sports adventure.

There are so many things to see and the most attractive places are Cellular Jail, Ross Island, North Bay Island, Carbyn's cove beach, Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex, Museums Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park and Havelock Island it’s a world famous for its beach known as Radha Nagar Beach it is Asia’s number one beach and another beach is Elephant Beach it is famous for all water activities, the Neil Island it has also beautiful beaches and have natural rocky bridge. Then in north middle Andaman have also some wonderful beaches Amkunj beach, Dhaninallah beach and etc….and the highest point in Andaman and Nicobar Island is also situated at Diglipur in North Andaman and another attraction is Ross & Smith Island which have wonderful coral reefs.
